Series Overview
Individuals seeking a seat in the boardroom of for-profit companies or of certain nonprofit organizations, a role in the C-suite, a seat on government boards and commissions and leadership other arenas of civic engagement are better equipped to lead and
participate if they have knowledge of the fundamentals of the economic development process. WELD is excited to announce its Foundations in Economic Development Series. This 4-part virtual program will provide an excellent overview
of economic development that will build attendee knowledge and confidence in the subject area. The parts include, The Basics, Economic Development Tools, Community Development and Hot Topics in the Boardroom.

Module 4: Hot Topics in the Boardroom
This module will expose women to the types of economic development strategic discussions that occur in the boardroom so that they are prepared and confident to participate. WELD is thrilled to have Carolyn Thurman, Founder and Principal, Civic Uplift LLC, as the expert presenter for this module. Her session will include a cameo featuring, Lisa Patt-McDaniel, CEO, Aspyr, and Jennifer Walton, Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Sky Nile Consulting.
