2024 WELD Corporate Board Conference Highlights

WELD is excited to announce its 2024 national corporate board conference. The conference begins with an evening keynote and networking dinner with a half-day program the following day.   All activities will feature corporate directors and experts on public and private company board service. The directors serve on a diverse list of boards that span across a range of industries and geographies.

These sessions will provide attendees the unique opportunity to hear from directors from outside their immediate geography, an important element in the process of searching for board opportunities.  To ensure attendees have ample opportunity to pose questions to the directors, session attendance will be capped, and small roundtable discussions are built into the program.

The target audience for the corporate board conference is C-suite executives or senior leaders with a strong interest in or actively pursuing public and/or private company board service.  The conference is also open for men to attend.

WELD Tell It Like It Is Thursday® - Influential Storytelling https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1846576 https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1846576 Influential Storytelling

WELD is delighted to welcome, Ruth Milligan, Founder and President of Articulation, as our esteemed speaker for the April Tell It Like It Is Thursday® Series.

No matter what field you are in, you have a story waiting to be told. Stories let you bridge what you know and care about to what you want your audiences to know and care about.

Clearly, part of your job is to communicate your deep understanding of your area of expertise. But to have impact, it must be delivered in terms that your organization’s executives, shareholders, customers or others can relate to through storytelling. '

Following are the learning objectives of this session:

  • Overview of the fundamentals to storytelling, i.e. what makes a story, why it is important to communication and human engagement; what are the components of a story
  • Why it works in modern organizations, how to use stories effectively, and when it’s best to use them.
  • How storytelling fits into a larger message framework and share the types of stories that resonate with audiences

Invisible Influence: 3 Hidden Forces That Cultivates Influence and Visibility (Webinar) https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1847736 https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1847736

Invisible Influence: 3 Hidden Forces That Cultivates Influence and Visibility for Women Leaders During Turbulent & Uncertain Times

The WELD Califorinia E-Chapter will be hosting this month’s session featuring Esther Weinberg, Founder & CEO of The Ready Zone.

In today's intricate organizational landscapes, where matrix structures and hybrid work models prevail, the art of conveying your ideas and establishing your presence has become increasingly complex. The rapid pace of change, coupled with evolving team dynamics and the introduction of new leadership roles, has significantly transformed the traditional pathways to visibility and influence.

For women leaders navigating these turbulent and uncertain times, mastering the delicate balance of consultancy and inspiration is crucial. The ability to foster innovative thinking and cross-functional collaboration is not just a skill but a necessity for thriving in the new normal. Influence today requires a nuanced approach, with a broader spectrum of stakeholders to consider and engage.

Join leadership expert Esther Weinberg as she unveils the subtle yet powerful strategies that can propel women leaders to remarkable growth. In this session, you'll discover how to:

  • Unearth "Passion Centers" to find common ground and amplify your voice in critical
    conversations.
  • Craft effective approaches to engage and gain the trust of those in higher echelons of power.
  • Elevate your impact, even amidst dissenting perspectives, by harnessing the power of
    constructive dialogue.

Visibility in today's professional environment goes beyond mere participation in virtual meetings or excellence in task execution. True influence is a byproduct of strategic visibility, an understanding of organizational power dynamics, and the ability to forge meaningful connections with key influencers. This session is designed to equip you with the tools to enhance your visibility, navigate the intricacies of power within your organization, and ultimately, expand your sphere of influence, whether you're in the office or connecting remotely.

Navigating Change & Uncertainty – Strategies for Growing through the Unexpected (Webinar) https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1846584 https://www.weldusa.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1846584 Navigating Change & Uncertainty – Strategies for Growing through the UnexpectedSteps for Negotiating Executive Compensation While Maintaining Positive Rapport

The WELD S.Ohio E-Chapter will be hosting this month’s session featuring Katy Tombaugh, Founder & CEO, Wellness Collective.

For some, the idea of change can be intriguing, exciting and/or elicit thoughts of adventure. For others, change may threaten comfort, stability, security and/or trigger an uneasy or fearful stress response. Yet for all living things, change, growth and adaptability are defining characteristics.

While knowing what the future holds (with one hundred percent certainty) isn’t feasible, it can be easy to assume life will stay predictable or status quo. Then suddenly, after receiving unexpected news, living with uncertainty about important life situations can become incredibly difficult.

Join us to explore skills and strategies for a supportive, growth-oriented mindset along with simple and repeatable mind/body practices to use in times of duress. Key learning objectives include expecting change and uncertainty, uncovering how to operate with hope and optimism, healthy coping and self-care strategies and preparing your personalized change plan.
