In honor of Women’s History Month, WELD’s annual Keynote event brings nationally known speakers and leaders to Columbus to advance the dialogue around women’s issues, challenges, and opportunities.

At this year’s Keynote, the Columbus chapter will focus on Moving Forward:  The New Playbook for Advocacy, building on the theme for the 2020 Women WELDing the Way® calendar Moving Forward:  Run…Don’t Walk!

Let the announcements continue! WELD is thrilled to announce that Colleen Jay, Global President, Procter and Gamble (Retired) and Non-Executive Director of The Cooper Companies and Treasury Wine Estates, will join our Keynote lineup as co-presenter with John W. Rogers, Jr., Chairman, Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Investments. Colleen has extensive experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, acquired over a long and successful career at Procter & Gamble. At P&G, Colleen held a number of senior leadership roles including President of Global Retail Hair Care & Colour and her most recent position as President of the US$5 billion Global Beauty Specialty business, where she also led a complex transition and divestiture of several businesses.

John and Colleen bring a long track record on the Keynote topic Moving Forward: The New Playbook for Advocacy. Men are uniquely positioned to increase diversity in the board room and C-suite. Join us for an engaging evening to learn playbook strategies to advance women leaders.

A firm with approximately $13 billion in assets under management, Ariel asks all the companies that it has invested in about the diversity of their investment managers, their investing teams and their boards. “We can point to 35 times where we were able to move the needle in terms of the diversity of their boards,” Mr. Rogers said. (Investment News, Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion Lifetime Achievement Award interview)

Beyond, Ariel, John is a board member of McDonald’s, NIKE, The New York Times Company and serves as the vice chair of the board of trustees of the University of Chicago.

Colleen has significant global experience having lived and worked in the United States, Europe, China and Canada.
